Mavis Elias, a philanthropist at heart, is the Founder of EM Love Foundation, a Namibian charity initiative. She is a final year Civil Engineering student at the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST). Mavis is co-founder of Ehaveco Events, an events organizing group which focuses on organizing woman empowerment functions and helping people and businesses realize the full potential of women. Mavis is also a part-time radio presenter at Energy 100 FM since 2011 and occasionally serves as master of ceremonies, having hosted the Namibia Music Awards function during 2015 as well as other prestigious events. With a great love for public speaking, Mavis has graced the stage with renowned Namibian motivational speakers (including the First Lady Madam Monica Geingos) as poet and motivational speaker in her own right. Mavis was awarded Vivid Philanthropist of the year in year 2015 and represented the country in Washington DC to do research on the fight against Gender Based Violence. Since the age of 19 years, Mavis has at her own initiative collected tens of thousands worth of clothing, food, toys and money and donated these to needy children, with S.O.S Childrens Village, Aunty Alice Kitchen, O.V.C Hangara Organisation and Let the Children Come to Me organizations being notable beneficiaries. In addition to her love for children, she has a passion for woman empowerment and strongly speaks out against sexism. She has successfully organized empowerment gala dinners where she brought together Namibian woman of note to serve as inspiration for other women. With her passion for woman empowerment, her love for charity work to benefit vulnerable children and her drive to succeed academically and in business, Mavis took up the position of Director on the One Economy Foundation with the hope and believe to positively influence and change as many lives as possible for the better.
